Jacqueline & Rich said ‘I do’ under one of the biggest and most beautiful willow trees I have ever seen, at the Jamaica Pavilion in Parc Jean Drapeau, minutes away from the heart of Montreal.
I had the pleasure of getting to know Rich & Jacqueline over an engagement session earlier this summer, where we witnessed a beautiful sunset and a giant full moon rising over the Lachine Canal. The couple, while nervously making jokes, were easygoing and a delight to work with - and they satisfied a longtime dream of mine to photograph a favorite abandoned building.
Their wedding day was graced with perfect (and not too hot!) summer weather and the sun dazzled between the boughs as guests began to get seated. Throughout the evening guests were treated to oysters, beautiful gardens, hilarious speeches, chicken dancing (for the Arrested Development fans), champagne, and an ice cream truck to satisfy the British contingent who apparently love ice cream more than you do. It was a huge hit and the light setting off from the truck made for excellent photo opportunities.
The band played on throughout the evening and while a playlist had been available, everyone was having such a great time, the band decided to keep the crowd going.
It was a tremendous opportunity, an occasion I will be eternally grateful to have been a part of.
